SOFTWARE ENGINEERS (multiple roles)

If you are a degree qualified and talented Software Engineer that is interested in working to develop virtual training scenario simulators, we are keen to hear from you.

In particular, we are looking for people who have specialist skills in any of the following disciplines:
     •C++
     •Java
     •Angular
You will be responsible for the high-level design, implementation and testing of software modules for simulation development projects.

To be successful the following skills, knowledge and experience is desirable: 
     •Experience working with C++, Java or Angular
     •Experience working in a collaborative team-based environment to design, develop and modify software
     •Working knowledge of multithreaded software design and implementation
     •Knowledge of OO design methodologies
     •Experience unit and/or system testing software advantageous

VEHICLE SIMULATION ENGINEERS

We are seeking graduate and experienced engineers for Simulink modelling of train and automotive vehicles to deliver simulators globally for driver training.

About the Company
Oktal Sydac is the world leading developer of simulators for the global rail and transportation sectors, with a large and growing pipeline of projects to deliver. These simulators are used for driver training simulation as well as an aid engineering design.  We have a diverse workforce delivering projects across the UK, USA, Asia, Europe, and Australia.  These high-fidelity immersive simulators are a detailed replication of the real system, with powerful training scenarios complemented by rich and realistic virtual worlds.

Responsibilities
     •Be involved in the whole software lifecycle, from design to delivery
    •Analyse customer requirements, OEM manufacture schematics, OEM manufacture design documentation and other inputs to design vehicle models
     •Implement and test these models in Simulink and within the overall simulator environment
    •Provide modelling that will primarily fall into two areas: physical systems such as electrical systems, pneumatics, traction, and vehicle dynamics; and computer systems such as autonomous control logic to simulate on-board vehicle computers
     •Look for opportunities to re-use or develop common modelling components that can be used between projects

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Traits
     •Curiosity and willingness to learn how things work will help you succeed in this role
  •Tertiary degree qualification in engineering such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, computer science, mechatronics engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline
    •Experience in Simulink and MATLAB will be highly regarded, but Simulink training will be provided during employee on-boarding
    •Experience in reading electrical and pneumatic schematics will be beneficial, but you will be supported by a team of modellers to develop these skills as needed
    •Interest in coding or scripting will be beneficial as you work with software developers and virtual world developers in a range of areas and disciplines
